Mark Kitchen, Sr. Obituary

Mark Allen Kitchen, Sr. of Steelville, MO, was born on Saturday, July 31, 1971, in Sullivan, MO, to Floyd A. Kitchen and Wilma Ann Kitchen, nee Rowland.  He passed away at his home on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the age of 54 years, 6 months and 8 days.

Mark grew up in Leasburg, MO and attended Cuba Schools.  He married Tiffany Perle McClary, on February 11, 1989, at Mt. Olive Church in Cuba, MO, and to this union, six children, were born.  A gifted carpenter, he dedicated his career to craftsmanship, lending his skill and steady hands to Taylor Morely, Behlmann Builders, Kitchen Construction, and Garrison Roofing. Through every board he cut and every structure he helped raise, Mark left behind not just quality work, but a lasting mark of integrity and pride.

A faithful man, he worshiped at Living Word Church in Leasburg, Missouri, carrying his beliefs not only on Sundays but into the way he treated others each day.

Mark felt most at home in the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and trapping were more than hobbies—they were part of who he was. The woods were his sanctuary, and he brought that love of nature into his workshop, where he carefully handcrafted custom turkey calls, blending patience, artistry, and passion. Whether he was deep in the field or simply cutting wood, he was in his element.

He was known for his legendary warmth—Mark truly never met a stranger. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and leave them feeling like an old friend. That same gentle spirit was shared with his loyal canine companions, Taffy, Nas, and Mel.

Above all else, Mark was a devoted family man. His greatest pride and deepest joy were found in the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. The love he gave so freely, the stories he shared, and the steady presence he offered will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Wilma Kitchen; daughter, Ashlea Kitchen; brother-in-law, William Summers and grandson, Bennett Kitchen.

Mark is survived by his children, Felicia (husband, Coty) of Cherryville, MO, Mark (wife, Billie Jean) Kitchen of Bourbon, MO, Ryan (wife, Ciara) Kitchen of Cuba, MO, Jacob (wife, Tiffany) Kitchen of Bourbon, MO and Mason (husband, Evan) Sparks of Waynesville, MO; ex-wife, Tiffany (husband Travis) Gamblin of Cuba, MO; brother, Floyd (wife, Tina) Kitchen of Leasburg, MO; sister, Sherry Fife of Bourbon, MO; 11 grandchildren, Jace Stroup, Emma Kitchen, Braden Kitchen, Adalee Stroup, Cora Baker, Reed Stites, Raylan Kitchen, Brooklyn Kitchen, Tucker Kitchen, Layla Stites and Brantley Kitchen; special friend, Nikki Southern of Steelville, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
