Rita Ethel (DePalma) Monteleone

Rita Ethel Monteleone of Rolla, MO was born on Thursday, May 13, 1943, in Vineland, NJ to John DePalma and Alice DePalma, nee Chammings.  She passed away at Phelps Health in Rolla, MO on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the age of 80 years, 10 months, and 4 days.

Rita attended Vineland High School in Vineland, NJ.  She married the love of her life, Peter Monteleone, Sr. in 1961 in Vineland, NJ and two sons were born to this union.  Rita was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family.  She enjoyed baking, cooking, canning, and collecting and selling antiques.  She had a big heart and was always willing to help others.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Angelina.  Rita was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. 

Rita was preceded in death by her parents John and Alice DePalma; parents-in-law Nicholas (Lena) Monteleone; husband Peter Monteleone, Sr.; brothers Robert “Bobby” DePalma and Daniel DePalma.
 

Rita is survived by her children Nicholas Monteleone and Peter Monteleone, Jr. both of Rolla, MO; brother David DePalma of Virginia; granddaughter Angelina Monteleone of Rolla, MO; nieces Jennifer (Chris) Turner of Virginia and Denise DePalma of Vineland, NJ; cousin Chris Chammings of Vineland, NJ; many other relatives and friends.

The family chose cremation as her final disposition.  There will be no services held at this time.
