Michael Joe Burke, of St. James, MO, was born on Friday, November 4, 1966 in Rolla, MO to LaVerna Kay Burke. He passed away on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Phelps Health in Rolla, MO at the age of 57 years, 4 months and 27 days.
Michael attended Steelville High School. He married the love of his life, Debbie Ann Morris, on March 22, 1997 at Center Point Baptist Church in Steelville, MO by Rev. Spencer Hutson. Michael worked in construction for Spencer Brickwork and Pace Construction both out of St. Louis, MO, Olin Brass for a long time in Cuba, MO and lastly for his brother-in-law's company, Morris Construction. He was a member of the Laborer's Union Local 110 and was the President of the Gun Club at the Cuba VFW 7147. Michael enjoyed the outdoors, bowling, playing softball, hunting and fishing. Michael loved NASCAR and going to watch Kayla race. Most of all, Michael was a family man. He loved his family and spending time with them, especially his grandkids. He was a devoted husband, father, adopted father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend.
He was preceded in death by his mother LaVerna Quinton; grandparents Joe and Thelma Burke; parents-in-law Bob Morris and Faye Morris; aunts, uncles and other relatives.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Debbie Burke of St. James, MO; son Kegan (Alanna) Burke of St. James, MO; siblings Mitchell Burke of Kansas City, MO and Michelle Hembree (Edmond Tapero) of Yavne, Israel; step-father Jim Quinton of Cuba, MO; brothers-in-law Bobby Morris and Scott Morris both of St. James, MO; uncle Jimmy (Dotty) Burke of St. James, MO; aunt Lula Patterson of Steelville, MO; grandchildren Kynnadie Burke and Liam Burke both of St. James, MO, Braydn, Baylee, Blake, Gunnar, Wesley, Millie, Emmett, Ryker and Ethan; many other children adopted out of love; cousins and many friends.
Visitation was from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO. Funeral Service was at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 5, 2024 at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO with Bro. Roy Adams officiating. The service was live-streamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, MO's Facebook Page. Burial was at Steelville Cemetery. Memorials were suggested to The American Cancer Society.
